Second day of Tredicina devotion preceding annual feast of St Anthony held in Milagres Shrine

MANGALURU, JUNE 01: The second day of Tredicina devotion preceding the annual feast of St Anthony of Padua was held on June 01, 2023, at St Anthony Shrine, Milagres Church, Mangaluru.

Rev. Fr Kevin Lawrence DSouza, Assistant Parish Priest, Derebail celebrated the Eucharistic for the Intentions of missionaries along with Rev. Fr J B Crasta, director, St Anthony Charitable Institutions, Jeppu, and Rev. Fr Nelson Peres, assistant director of the ashram.

Fr Kevin preached on the theme, “The Word of God in the life and mission of the Church”. He said, “The Word of God gives life to the Church. The Church is born and lives by the Word of God. The Word of God is seen as vital, effective and penetrating in the lives of people who brought glory to God.” He gave a call to become an ardent reader and preacher of the Word of God.

At the end of the mass, Fr Avinash Pais, Assistant Director of the Ashram conducted the novena in honour of St Anthony, during which special prayers were offered for all the missionaries. Choir members of Urwa Parish sang and joined in the thanksgiving.

Payasam (sweet dish) was served to all the devotees who attended the devotion.
