SJEC AICTE IDEA Lab successfully organized Three-days’ Workshop on Advanced Manufacturing Processes

Mangaluru: St Joseph Engineering College, Vamanjoor, Mangaluru, in association with SJEC AICTE IDEA LAB and the Department of Mechanical Engineering, organized a three-day skill Skill Development Program on “Advanced Manufacturing Processes” from October 11to 13, 2023, for the students of diploma colleges in the Mangalore region. About 60 students from Government Polytechnic Bantwal and 39 students from SNS Polytechnic Bajpe registered for the workshop and actively participated.

The first session of the workshop was focused on training the participants on the workings of different machines and the use of software like SolidWorks, TinkerCAD, ArtCAM, Creality Ender Slicer, Light Burner, etc., which is primarily used to create the design of the model or product to be developed. Students were later divided into three groups of 10 students each, and hands-on training was given on 3D printers, 3D scanners, laser cutting machines, and CNC wood router machines, respectively. Dr. Ravikantha Prabhu, Dr Vijay V. S., and Mr. Rajesh Belchada conducted different sessions as resource persons for the workshop. Mr. Deekshith, Mr. Harshith, Ms. Chaithra K, and Mr Praveen Dsouza demonstrated the workings of different machines and guided the participants as Tech Gurus.
