Hindi Poetry Writing Workshop held at SAC
Mangaluru: The Department of Hindi, St Aloysius College (Autonomous) Mangaluru, organized a workshop on Hindi Poetry Writing for UG students on September 14, 2023, in AR803 of Arrupe Block. The purpose of the workshop was to encourage youngsters to develop their poetry-writing skills. Dr Mukund Prabhu, the HOD of the Department of Hindi, was the convenor, and Ms. Lilu Kumari Rajak and Dr Govind Thapa Chetry were the staff coordinators of the event.
Mr. Vimal Kumar Grover, a renowned Hindi poet and writer, was the resource person and Chief Guest of the workshop. He provided deep insights about the art of poetry writing to the audience and explained the various nuances of poetry writing. Ms Shambhavi Pai of 3rd BA was the emcee of the workshop. Dr Charles Furtado, the Director of the Admin Block of the college, chaired the session and mediated the event.
The workshop began with a welcome address by Dr Mukund Prabhu, who introduced the Chief Guest to the gathering. This was followed by a brief address by Dr Charles Furtado and a session by the resource person. At the end of the event, emerging poets from the college were provided a platform to recite their self-written poems, followed by an interactive and productive feedback session.
Thus, the workshop enlightened students on the importance of linguistics in poetry writing and expanded their horizons on its nuances.
