FMMC celebrates 25th year of the MBBS program, 25th MBBS batch inaugural on October 16

Mangaluru: To mark the 25th year of the MBBS programme at Father Muller Medical College, various events are scheduled for the whole celebratory year. A Thanksgiving Mass will be held on October 16, 2023, at 7:30 a.m. in the St Joseph Chapel, led by Most Rev. Dr Peter Paul Saldanha, Bishop of Mangalore and President of FMCI. Thereafter, at 3.30 p.m., the inaugural ceremony of the 25th Batch of MBBS students for the new academic (23-24) year will be held. Parents and guardians will be present to witness the event, where Ms Ghana P. Kumara, KSPS, Deputy Superintendent of Police, Puttur Sub Division, will be the chief guest.

Addressing the media on Thursday, October 12, Dr Archana Bhat (Assoc. Professor General Medicine), who is the first batch student of FMMC, also leads the Alumi Association, and currently the faculty has outlined the events that the association will host during its silver anniversary year. The association will launch a number of state and worldwide chapters, and the history of FMCI will be chronicled in a coffee table book that will be available the following year.

Fr Ajith B. Menezes, Administrator, FMMC/FMCP/FMCOAHS, spoke on the admission process into the medical stream, while Dean Dr Antony Sylvan Dsouza spoke on the various activities and increments of seats to be added to the college. Rev. Fr Richard Aloysius Coelho, Director of FMCI, welcomed and thanked the gathered for their presence and enlisted the ongoing development of the institutions.
