Chrism Mass at the Diocese of Shimoga, led by Bishop Francis Serrao SJ
Shimoga, March 22, 2024: The Diocese of Shimoga celebrated Chrism Mass on March 21st, 2024, at Sacred Heart Cathedral, Shimoga.
On March 20th, all the clergy serving in the Diocese of Shimoga gathered at the Pastoral Renewal Center, Sannidhi, Shimoga, for the Recollection. Fr Jossie SJ preached the Recollection. At 6:15, he spoke on ‘Interiority’. At 7:15 p.m., he led the adoration.
On Day 2, March 21st, at 9 a.m., Fr Jossie SJ dealt with ‘Discernment in Troubled Times.” At 10:30 a.m., confessions were organised. At 12 p.m., Bishop Francis Serrao SJ addressed his Clergy and gave his message. Msgr. Felix Joseph Noronha, Vicar General of the Diocese of Shimoga, thanked the preacher and Bishop Francis for organising the recollection. He also thanked Sannidhi Director Msgr. Duming Dias.
In the evening, at 5:30 p.m., Most Rev. Dr Francis Serrao SJ, Bishop of the Diocese of Shimoga, concelebrated the Holy Eucharist with his priests at Sacred Heart Cathedral, Shivamogga. A large number of faithful and religious sisters participated in the Chrism Mass. The Bishop Elect of the Diocese of Karwar, Msgr. Duming Dias, preached a meaningful homily on the occasion. The bishop blessed the oils, and priests renewed their commitment to the church.
