Career Guidance Program: A Way Forward at Mount Carmel Central School

Mangaluru: A career guidance program was organized by Mount Carmel Central School in collaboration with the Lions Club of Ashok Nagar and Mangaladevi, Mangaluru, for students in Grades X and XII. It aimed to provide insights and guidance to the students to enable them to make important decisions for their future career paths. The event took place on school premises. The teachers and members of the Lions Club also attended the programme.

For Grade XII, the session was held on Saturday, August 19th, conducted by Prof. Ronald Pinto in association with the Lions Club, Ashoknagar. The inaugural ceremony commenced with a prayer song by the school choir. Sister Teena, the Vice Principal, delivered a heartfelt welcome, setting the tone for the informative session ahead.


Mr. Charan Alva, the President of the Lions Club, addressed the gathering, emphasizing the importance of career exploration and decision-making. He highlighted the collaboration between Mount Carmel Central School and the Lions Club as a testament to their commitment to the students’ growth and success. Ms. Kusuma Rao, the Zonal Chairperson, encouraged the students to pursue their passions and make use of every opportunity.

Prof. Ronald Pinto, director of the Institute of Individual Development, Mangaluru, was the resource person of the day. He provided valuable insights into various career options, emerging trends in different industries, and the importance of skill development.

Head Boy Siddharth Shetty and Thaneesha gave the feedback, and Teacher Ananya compered the programme. Mr Naresh Shetty, the secretary of the Lions Club, Mr Jayaprakash, the regional chairperson, were present for the session.

For Grade X, the session was held on Tuesday, August 22nd, conducted by Prof. Ronald Pinto in association with the Lions Club, Mangaladevi. Mr P. S Alva, the President of Lions Club, Mrs Jayashri Lokesh, the Secretary, Mrs Saraswathi S Kuru, Tresurer, Mr Ronald Gomes, Past District Governor, Mr Jayaprakash, regional chairperson, Mrs Kusuma U. Rao, the Zonal Chairperson, and the other members of the club were present.

Mr P. S Alva, the President of Lions Club, addressed the gathering. Mr Ronald Gomes, past District Governor encouraged the students to choose the field that they are interested in. Students Ashni and Noah gave the feedback, and Sr Juliana compered the programme.

It was indeed an enriching day for the students of Grades X to XII, providing them a platform to gather insights, seek guidance, and clarify doubts related to their way forward.
