75th Republic Day Celebrated with patriotism at Mount Carmel Central School

Mangaluru: The fragrance of patriotism escalated as our country celebrated its 75th Republic Day. The students of Mount Carmel Central School, Mangaluru, were also all set for the Republic Day celebration on January 26th.

The ceremony began with the arrival of the Chief Guest, Col. Rajesh Holla. The NCC cadets Sakshi Karkada and Harshith Shetty escorted the Chief Guest, Joint Secretary Sr. Asha Prima, Administrator Sr. Carissima, Principal Sr. Melissa,Vice Principal Sr. Teena, and PTA Vice President Ms. Carol Pais to the flag post. Col. Rajesh Holla with patriotism, unfurled the National Flag while the school band melodiously played the National Anthem. This was followed by the March past by the NCC, Scouts & Guides and students, which was emceed by Tr. Anisha. All the houses, led by their leaders, marched to the rhythmic beat of the school band.

This was followed by the cultural programme in the auditorium. The devotion at the prayer service evoked a sense of gratitude and patriotic spirit. After the welcome dance, Darsh and Ambika of Grade VI welcomed the Chief Guest.

A variety of programmes were put up by the students of Grades VI C and D to highlight India’s triumph in 2023 through a dance drama. The Chief Guest at the outset appreciated the students and staff for the programme, which was packed with patriotism. In his message, he echoed the call for unity, saying that a nation cannot be great if we do not celebrate our differences. He called the students to be the brand ambassadors of our country. The Chief Guest then honoured the winners of the March past. With the vote of thanks by Praneeth and Ameya, the programme came to a close. The school dispersed with the singing of the School Anthem. Refreshments were served to celebrate this day with flavour. The emcees Advaith and Trisha, hosted the flag-unfurling ceremony, while Ashline and Abhijit led the cultural programme.
