Priestly ordination ceremony held at Rosario Cathedral, Mangaluru
Mangaluru, April 11: The Diocese of Mangalore witnessed the Priestly Ordination for the year 2024 on Thursday at Rosario Cathedral, Mangalore, commencing at 3 p.m. Dr Peter Paul Saldanha, the Bishop of Mangalore, presided over the solemn ceremony, ordaining three deacons into the priesthood.
The ordained priests include Deacon Norman John Mathias, son of Mr. Norbert and Janet Mathias from Kuppepadavu parish; Deacon Pradeep Clarence Rodrigues, son of Mr. Pascal and Celine Rodrigues from Ferar parish; and Deacon Lanson Maxim Pinto, son of Mrs. Shalet and the late Mr. Lancy Pinto from Fajir parish.
The ceremony was graced by the presence of Monsignor Maxim Noronha, Vicar General; V. Rev. Victor George, Chancellor; V. Rev. Naveen Pinto, Judicial Vicar; Ronald Serrao, Rector of St Joseph’s Seminary; and Fr. Alfred Pinto, Rector of the Cathedral, along with several priests and religious members who gathered to witness and bless the newly ordained priests.
After the mass, the newly ordained priests were felicitated. Fr Vijay Machado moderated the ceremony, while Fr Santhosh Rodrigues introduced and extended his words of felicitation to the newly ordained. In response, Fr Norman Mathias, one of the newly ordained priests, proposed the vote of thanks, expressing gratitude for the support and blessings received.
