Workshop on Self-Defense organized at St. Agnes College (Autonomous), Mangaluru

Mangaluru: Entrepreneurship Development Forum (EDF) in association with Women’s Cell and Rangers and Traffic Warden Squad St Agnes College (Autonomous), Mangaluru organized a workshop on “Self Defense” on 26 November 2022.

Mr Arjun Shetty who is an Authorised self-defense trainer at Combat Tactical System and Ms Prajna J Shetty, WAKO International Kickboxing Referee were the Resource persons for the workshop.

They were assisted by Mrs Vidya and Ms Prerana.

The workshop began with a Prayer song led by Ms Michelle Kinara Dsouza, member of EDF.

Dr Devi Prabha Alva, Convener, EDF welcomed the gathering. Mrs Lawren Maria Castelino, Convener-Rangers and Traffic Warden Squad, Ms Blairil Vishma Dcunha, Convener-Women’s Cell, Ms Nebisha Muneesha, Secretary EDF, Ms Firdoz Banu, Secretary Rangers and Traffic Warden Squad, Ms Jenal Weona Pereira, Secretary Women’s Cell were present for the inaugural.

The members of all the three associations were present for the workshop. All of them took active part in the session. The Resource persons gave many insights on self-defense. They also explained various methods of self-defense and gave a brief description on how to protect oneself in times of danger.

The Resource persons gave a practical demonstration of the attack and counter attack tactics. This enabled the students to understand self-defense in a better way. The students tried to practically implement the tactics taught by the trainers.

A few students shared their feedback on the session and exclaimed about the effectiveness of the session.

Ms Blairil Vishma D’Cunha, Convener Women’s Cell proposed the vote of thanks.

Dr Devi Prabha Alva Convener EDF handed over the token of gratitude to the Resource persons.

Overall it was a good interactive and informative session.
