St Phiomena Premiere League (SPL) Season -3 Closing Ceremony at St Philomena College Grounds
Puttur 6, May: ST PHIOMENA PREMIERE LEAGUE (SPL)SEASON -3, organized by Department of Physical Education and Student Council of the College concludes in the evening of 6, May 2023 with AGNI BROTHERS team emerging the winners of the Trophy after an incredible fight in the semi finals and the final round. Team MAD DEVILS being Runners, XAVIONS bagged III Place and PHILO HAWKS securing IV Place. Mr Nawaz from MAD DEVILS adjudged MAN OF THE SERIES, Bilal from XAVIONS emerged BEST BOWLER and Harshith from AGNI BROTHERS bagged BEST BATSMAN title.
The Guest of Honour at the closing ceremony Mr Harsha Kumar rai, Architect and Consultant, National Highways appreciated the efforts of Department of Physical Education and the Students Council for providing such an opportunity for the students to explore the latent talents of the students in the arena of sports. He congratulated the winners and the members of all eight teams for their healthy team spirit in involving themselves in sports. The winners, Runners, III & IV Place winning teams were honored with their respective trophies by the guest of honour. Mrs Bharathi S Rai, PRO and Student Welfare Officer of the College presented the Man of the Series and the Best Bowler Trophies. Mrs Divya, St Philomena Pre-University presented the Best Batsman Trophy.
Eight Teams PHILO HAWKS, TEAM AGASTHYA, MAD DEVILS, XAVIENS, AERX, HAWKS 14, TEAM DBZ and AGNI BROTHERS were in the field. Every team had an owner, manager, mentor, coach and a physio along with two icon players. After the League level, there was Qualifier and Eliminator matches.
Ms Anushree, Secretary Student Council welcomed. Physical Education Director Mr Elias Pinto Proposed vote of thanks. Ms Raksha Anchan compered the Programme. Mr Mohammad Ashik, President of Student Council and Ms Shivani, Joint Secretary was present on the dais.
After the closing ceremony there found the jubilation on the college grounds by the teams participated, thereby proving sports is for team spirit and to promote friendship.
