Sixth day’s Novena at Our Lady of Health Minor Basilica, Harihara

Davanagere, Harihara, September 4, 2023: The sixth day’s Novena at Our Lady of Health, Minor Basilica, Harihara, Davanagere District, Diocese of Shimoga, began at 5:30 p.m. with Rosary, Procession and floral homages to Harihara Matha. Then the Basilica Rector & Parish Priest Rev. Fr George K. A., led the Novena.

At 6:30 p.m., Rev. Fr Shanthraj SJ, Bengaluru, offered the Holy Eucharist. He preached his homily on the theme: “Mother Mary is an inspiration to win over the difficulties in the family”. 

In his homily, he explained that difficulties are part and parcel of life. But we need to face them courageously with the grace of God. The Blessed Virgin Mary is the perfect example for us of how she faced the difficulties she faced in her life. She never complained about them. But gracefully accepted them as the gift of God and obeyed the will of God. Even in our lives, she always remains an example of how to face and overcome difficulties.

Rev. Fr Venil D’Silva, Rev. Fr Richard SJ, Rev. Fr Wilson Lopis, and Rev. Fr Alvin Stanislaus concelebrated the Holy Eucharist. 

After the Mass, Rev. Fr Santhraj SJ led the benediction, and priests prayed over the pilgrims.
