NSS units of St. Agnes College visits Snehalaya
Mangaluru: NSS units of St. Agnes College organized a visit to Snehalaya, Pavoor, Manjeshwar on 21st December 2021. A team of 20 NSS student volunteers along with four faculty members – Mrs. Vineetha, NSS Program Officer, Mrs. Vidya Patali, NSS Program Officer, Sr. Evet, Management Representative and Mr. Vivan, Assistant NSS Program Officer made this visit. The team started from St. Agnes College, Mangalore at 1.00pm and reached Snehalaya at 2.00 pm.
Ms. Veena, Staff of Snehalaya, took the team around to meet the inmates and interact with them. After the interaction a video related to Snehalaya, and its activities was shown to all. Brother Joseph Crasta, the founder of Snehalaya ,also briefed the NSS students about Snehalaya – a home for the destitute and enlightened the students about the importance of social service in serving humanity selflessly. This was followed by the Christmas program prepared and presented by the NSS volunteers with much love and Joy. All inmates actively and happily participated in the games conducted by the NSS volunteers. The program was well appreciated by Brother Joseph Crasta and the Staff of Snehalaya. Savitha, Public Relation Officer, Snehalaya thanked St. Agnes College for the generous donation and the NSS volunteers for the beautiful, meaningful, joyous Christmas program and games. Mr. Vivan, Assistant NSS officer proposed the vote of thanks. The program ended at 5.00 pm.
