Mount Carmel pays a fitting tribute to the official and national language Hindi on Hindi Diwas

Mangaluru: To commemorate and celebrate the popularity of Hindi throughout the nation, Mount Carmel Central School, Mangaluru, celebrated Hindi Diwas on September 14, 2023, in the school auditorium.

The programme began by invoking God’s blessings. Students Christine, Kavish, and Naflah accorded a heartfelt welcome to the chief guest, Tr Anokimala, one of the Hindi teachers at the school. The cultural programme was an amalgamation of poems, songs, and dances that showcased the richness of the Hindi language. The significance of the day was well articulated by the students, bringing out the culture, tradition, and unity of the nation.

The chief guest, Tr. Anokimala, appreciated and applauded the students for a meaningful programme. In her message, she cited the need to study Hindi in schools. It was also heartening to hear her pay tribute to Hindi through a song to which the students responded heartily.

The administrator, Sr Carissima, highlighting the importance of Hindi, said that it has united us Indians with the nation and its culture. The winners of the competitions held on the occasion of “Hindi Diwas’ were felicitated. Pranavi accorded a note of gratitude. The programme ended with a feeling of oneness for the national language as the actors unitedly posed for a group photo.
