Marian Hymns nite organized at St Lawrence Church in Bondel

Mangaluru: St Lawrence Church in Bondel organized a melodious Marian Hymns nite for the late Rev. Fr. Walter Albuquerque SJ Memorial Choir in Mangalore.

The Melodious Marian Hymns Night at  St Lawrence Church Bondel was organized by the Late Rev. Fr. Walter Albuquerque SJ Memorial Choir Mangalore on October 7th, 2023, to raise funds for the church project.

The Choir was led by Choir Master Simon Pais. With his beautiful troop of 30 members, they sang eight hymns. The singers included Dealle D’Souza, Mr Joe and Sylvia Fernandes, Mr Viswas Rebimbus, Mrs Meera Florence, Mr Jason Lobo, Mr Lawrence Baptist, and Jasmine.

The Bondel Choir group sang three hymns under the leadership of Dr Suraj Noronha including soulful singing by Parish Priest Rev. Fr Andrew Leo D’Souza, Rev. Fr Peter Gonsalves, and Rev. Fr Lancy D’Souza.

Fr. Walter Albuquerque SJ Memorial handed over the Rs 2.5 Lacs cheque to Rev. Fr Andrew Leo D’Souza for the church project, which they collected from the well-wishers and supporters.

Choir Master Simon Pais was honoured by the parish priest with a shawl, peta, and garland. Rev. Fr Anil SJ, Anush SJ, Mr John D’Silva, Vice President of the Parish Pastoral Council, were on the dais.

Parishioners of St Lawrence Church and City Deanery parishioners were gathered in huge numbers.

Parish Priest Rev. Fr Andrew Leo D’Souza thanked Choir Master Simon Pais and his team, Dr Suraj and his team, and all the donors and sponsors for joining hands to make this Marian Hymns night a successful one.
