Mangaluru: NSS Fest-Aakrithi organized at St.Agnes College
Mangaluru: The NSS Units of St.Agnes College organized an Inter-Collegiate Competition “AAKRITHI”. Two competitions were held namely “Abhinaya”(street play) and “Jhenkara”(Group song). NSS Volunteers from 7 different colleges participated in this Competition. Each team comprised of 10 students.
The programme commenced at 1.15pm, by invoking God’s blessings. Sr.Dr. Maria Roopa A.C (Joint Secretary, St Agnes College, Mangaluru) was the Chief Guest of the programme. Dr Nagarathna (NSS Co-ordinator , Mangaluru University) was the Guest of Honour. Sr. Dr.M.Jeswina A.C ( Principal, St. Agnes College) presided over the programme .
The programme was inaugurated by lighting of the lamp by the dignitaries. Dr. Nagarathna addressed the gathering and appreciated the activities done by the NSS volunteers during the year 2019-2020 and also congratulated the faculty members and students of St. Agnes College for organizing the intercollegiate competitions and providing an opportunity to NSS students of other colleges to showcase their talents .
The event ended with a valedictory programme at 4.30 pm. NSS Student Secretary Miss Shreenavya announced the names of the winners and the trophies were distributed to the winners by Mr Charles Pais, Registrar, St. Agnes College, Chief guest for the valedictory programme .
The first place for the “Street play” and “Bhavageethe” was bagged by the students from Govindasa College, Suratkal . The second place for Street play was bagged by Canara College, Mangaluru and Bhavgeethe by Ramakrishna College, Mangaluru. The programme ended by singing the NSS Anthem Song.
