Lourdes Central School holds Silver Jubilee Thanksgiving Eucharistic Celebration
Mangaluru: Lourdes Central School, Mangalore, marked the grand finale of its Silver Jubilee celebration with a Thanksgiving Eucharistic Celebration on February 10, 2024, at 10 a.m. The auspicious occasion took place at St. Xavier’s Church, Bejai, where the main celebrant was the esteemed Bishop of Mangalore, Most Rev. Dr Peter Paul Saldanha. Co-celebrating the Mass were Rev. Dr John Baptist Saldanha, Manager of the school, and Rev. Fr Robert DSouza, the Principal along with a galaxy of priests.
The day commenced with a solemn Eucharistic procession, symbolizing the journey of the school over the past 25 years. The procession, starting from the church hall and advancing to the church, featured an entourage of altar servers, angelically dressed children, members of the management committee, and invited priests, including the distinguished Bishop, Most Rev. Dr Peter Paul Saldanha, Rev. Fr John Baptist Saldanha, Manager, and Rev. Fr Robert DSouza.
In the concluding message to the congregation, the Bishop congratulated Rev. Dr John Baptist Saldanha, Manager, Rev. Fr Robert Dsouza, Principal, the staff, students, and parents of LCS. On the occasion, he also remembered the founder, the late Rev. Bernard L. DSouza, all the past managers of LCS, the principals, and the former staff, with whose dedicated service the school has reached greater heights and made a name in the city of Mangalore.
The liturgy was beautifully enhanced by eloquent liturgical readers and the melodious voices of the LCS choir, creating an atmosphere of divinity and reflection.
The Thanksgiving Mass witnessed the presence of the entire Catholic student body, their parents and staff, as well as the Bejai parishioners and other special invitees. The event was a convergence of faith, gratitude, and celebration, encapsulating the spirit of the Silver Jubilee.
Following the Mass, a fellowship meal was organized, bringing together staff, parents, students, parishioners, and all attendees.
LCS Musical Carnival: The day culminated in a spectacular LCS Music Carnival at 6:00 p.m. on the school grounds. This musical extravaganza featured prolific singers and musicians from Karnataka, making the evening both fun-filled and relaxing.
As Lourdes Central School concludes its Silver Jubilee Celebration, it does so with renewed spirit and strength, poised to continue its mission of imparting value-based education.
