Joshiana 12.0, a 2-day National-Level IT Fest held at SJEC
Mangaluru: “The Technocrats”—Students Association of Department of Computer Applications of SJEC conducted Joshiana 12.0, a 2-day National Level IT Fest for the students of MCA, MTech, MS, BCA, and B.Sc. (CS) on September 21st and 22nd, 2023. The fest was organized under the aegis of the Department of Computer Applications, and we have witnessed it over the last two days.
Joshiana 12.0 was inaugurated with the lighting of the lamp by the dignitaries, which included Mr. Bharath Nidaplli, Senior Tech Lead, Iron Service Global, who was the Chief Guest at the Inaugural Function. This was followed by the unveiling of the trophies for which the participants were competing against each other.
Chief Guest, Mr. Bharath Nidaplli, addressed the gathering, wherein he voiced his opinion on coping with the growth of technology. CYBER WARFARE (Coding), WEB WIZARDS (Web Design), STRATEGIST (IT Quiz), RECONNAISSANCE (Photography & Videography), TECH REBUTTAL (IT Debate), FRONTLINE (Gaming), TACTICIAN (Product Launch), CAPOEIRA (Variety Contest), EMPEROR (IT Manager), and ONE PIECE (Treasure Hunt) were among the ten events. The events are designed to test the technical mettle of the participants.
The events were conducted by the MCA students over two days, and the judges were invited from inside and outside the college. Altogether, 22 teams participated in Joshiana 12.0 and 269 participants visited the college and participated in the fest.
During the Valedictory Function, the Chief Guest for the ceremony, Dr. Puroshothama Chippar, Vice Principal, SJEC, delivered an inspiring speech, emphasizing the importance of students cultivating qualities such as adaptability and collaboration. Dr. Rio D’Souza, Principal, SJEC, delivered an inspiring address to the audience.
The Runners-Up in the UG category was awarded to Canara College, Mangaluru, and the overall championship in the Joshiana 12.0 UG category was awarded to Paduva College of Commerce and Management, Mangaluru. The Runners-Up for Joshiana 12.0 under the PG category was bagged by Kristu Jayanti College, Bengaluru, and the overall championship was bagged by Vivekananda College of Engineering and Technology, Puttur.
