InnoVenture- SJEC Innovation Platform launched at SJEC

Mangaluru: St Joseph Engineering College launched a new initiative InnoVenture: SJEC Innovation Platform on 11 Feb 2023 on the sidelines of its 22nd Foundation day. InnoVenture is a tripartite agreement of SJEC with the Indo Universal Collaborations for Engineering Education (IUCEE) and Dr Nitin Kulkarni, Former Director of the Center for Technology Innovation and Entrepreneurship CTIE at KLE Tech, Hubli. InnoVenture aims to culturize innovation and entrepreneurship on SJEC Campus through a two-year long coordinated interventions. The initiative aims to translate the technologies developed on Campus into world class products and services.

InnoVenture was inaugurated by Dr Nitin Kulkarni by unveiling the logo at 3:30 pm in the Spoorthi Hall of Academic Block III in the Campus. Dr Kulkarni will be functioning as the Program Manager of this initiative. Dr Rio D’Souza, the Principal of SJEC and the Chief Advisor for this initiative and Dr Purushothama Chippar, Vice Principal of SJEC and Chief Mentor of this initiative were present during the inaugural. The inaugural ceremony was presided over by Rev. Fr Alwyn Richard D’Souza, Incharge-Director of SJEC. The occasion was attended by all SJEC Faculty.

Dr Nitin Kulkarni had two interactive sessions with the students and faculty of SJEC respectively, where he highlighted the need for enhanced innovation and entrepreneurial outcomes from engineering institutions. He laid out the plans for the platform and sought the participation of all stakeholders for its success. The event was coordinated by Dr Ravikantha Prabhu, Chairperson of Industry and Innovation Group of Committees and Mr Chitharanjan M, Chairperson of Development & Planning Group of Committees along with Dr Binu K G, Head – Strategy & Planning and Program Head of InnoVenture. The events were hosted by Mr Roopesh, Assistant Professor in the Department of Business Administration and Mr Glenson Toney, Assistant Professor in the Electronics and Communication Engineering and the Training Coordinator of SJEC.
