Certificate Course on “A step towards Healthier tomorrow” organized by Dept. of Microbiology of St. Agnes College
Mangaluru: The Department of Microbiology, St. Agnes College ( Autonomous), Mangaluru in association with Mangala Group of Educational Institutions, Mangaluru organized an online certificate course on “A Step Towards Healthier Tomorrow” from 20 July to 5 August 2020 for a duration of 30 hours.
Participants included students of PUC and UG and faculty members from various colleges. 220 participants registered for this program. The Department of Microbiology designed this course with an objective to create awareness of Health Care and healthy practices to be followed in day to day life. This was achieved with the support and cooperation from the resource persons of Mangala group of educational institutions, Mangaluru.
Sr. Dr M Venissa A C Principal St. Agnes College ( Autonomous), Mangaluru delivered the inaugural address and encouraged the students to actively participate in all the sessions since this course is of utmost relevant to face the current pandemic. Mr. Karthik Kamath, Course Coordinator, Mangala Group of Educational Institutions gave an overview of the course. Mrs. Prajwal Rao H, Asst. Professor, Dept. Of Microbiology and the Convener of the course, coordinated the lecture series for the Certificate Course. The highlights of the course included lecture series, practical demonstration and Q and A sessions

An added feature of the course was a practical demonstration of Yoga by Mr. Amarnath Mallya, a post graduate from TAPMI, Manipal and volunteer with Art of Living Foundation.
The certificate course was highly appreciated by the participants. E certificates would be given to the registered participants based on their attendance and submission of assignments.
