“Azadi ka Amrit Mohotsav” celebrated by the primary students of Mount Carmel Central School
Mangaluru, August 13: The primary students of Mount Carmel Central School celebrated the “Azadi ka Amrit Mohotsav” and commencement of 76th year of Azadi with the theme “Nation first, always first”. The students of grade II A and III E were the hosts of this celebration.
The program commenced with a fitting prayer service. The chief guest of the day, Surgeon Commander Manoj George Varghese was accorded a hearty welcome by the students. The significance of the day was articulated with deep sentiments. The cultural program of songs and dance boosted the spirit of patriotism in the audience. The skit on freedom fighter Bhagath Singh transported the audience on an emotional ride and reminded them about the sacrifice of our forefathers in attaining our freedom.
The chief guest in his message cited how the power of going green contributes towards a peaceful and prosperous nation. He urged the students to be responsible citizens of India, to begin with, responsibility to themselves and to their peers. He appreciated and applauded the confidence of the students who performed on stage and expressed his gratitude of being a part of the celebration. The administrator Sr Carissima, in her message upheld the chief guest’s message of paving path for a peaceful and prosperous nation.
The winners of various competitions held in honor of “Azadi ka Amrit Mohotsav” were felicitated. Students Sachith and Reebha emceed the program confidently. Student Anna proposed the vote of thanks. The finale was heartwarming when the performers majestically assembled on stage carrying a Tiranga each, as ambassadors to the tune of “Har Ghar Tiranga”.
