Annual Sports Day held at Lourdes Central School
Mangaluru: The LCS Sports week was started on 4th November 2019. The finale for Kindergarten to Class V was held on 7th November 2019 at LCS Grounds.
The chief guest Major Dr Rajesh S M Paediatrician and Head of the Department of Paediatrician KMC Hospital accompanied by the President Rev Fr Wilson L Vitus D’Souza, Principal Rev Fr Robert D’Souza, Vice Principal Ms Belita Mascarenhas, Asst Parish Priest Rev Fr Pramod Crasta, Mr Shankara Subbu PTEC Vice President, Ms. Valentina Rodrigues.
Sports Day began by invoking God’s Blessings. Principal Rev Fr Robert D’Souza welcomed the gathering. The special highlight of the Sports Day was the colourful display from the Kindergarteners, Class IV children and Mass PT exercises from Class I to class 5. House system song was sung by the students of Opal house, Coral house, Jade house and Amber house. All the students from KG to Class V had fun filled week.
During the sports week various sports events were conducted for the students of KG to Class 5. The students participated in the events wholeheartedly. The winners were awarded with medals and certificates.
The chief guest in his address said that Sports makes a person physically and mentally strong. Sports help in the growth of children. He congratulated all the winners and he wished all the best for the future of the children.
The president of the day Rev Fr Wilson L Vitus D’Souza in his address said Sports is a platform for the success. Whether you win or not all the participants are the winners. He asked the students to keep up the sportsmen spirit.
The Programme compered by Siddharth and Anushka, Joanne Benita Karkad proposed the vote of thanks. The programme concluded by singing the School Anthem.
