A session on Green Skills for a Sustainable Future was organized at St Agnes College (Autonomous), Mangaluru
Mangaluru: The Post Graduate Department of Commerce, Centre for Post Graduate Studies and Research, St Agnes College (Autonomous), Mangaluru organized a session on “Green Skills for a Sustainable Future” on September 6, 2023. The special guest for the session was Mrs. Froidy Fernandes, HOD & Assistant Professor, Department of Botany.
The session started by invoking God’s blessing. Ms. Merin V. M. welcomed the gathering, and Ms. Samruddhi compered the session. Sr Dr M.Vinora A.C. PG Coordinator, congratulated the department for organizing such a meaningful program. The objective of the session was to impart a range of knowledge, skills, and attitudes among students in higher education regarding Green Skills.
Mrs. Fernandes highlighted the importance of nature and the environment, the connection, and the relationship between nature and human beings. She emphasized the importance of sustainability and how to use the accessible resources minimally. She requested that everyone grow and take care of their own plants. She also added that each one is responsible for making the world a better place to live; hence, each action counts. She also discussed the applicability of green skills in numerous industries.
Postgraduate students from different departments attended the session. The session ended successfully under the guidance of Dr Dolan Champa Banerjee, HOD of M.Com. Ms. Sumaiyya, M. Com. final-year student, concluded the session.
