Women Empowerment Initiative driven by the KANTAR – CHD Group partnership
Mangaluru: CHD Group holding Special Consultative Status at the UNECOSOC, under the flagship initiative of The Family Pillar Alliance Program in association with Kantar India Foundation supported CSR initiative is currently training around 40 women as General Duty Assistants in West Karbi Anglong District of Assam in partnership with Bamonpo College and Rotary e-connect. The Family Pillar Alliance is a concept curated by the Edward & Cynthia Institute of Public Health, Mangalore. The skill development training is taking place also in parts of Karnataka such as Bellary, Yadgir districts to create a secure and sustainable future for women. Bellary District has seen a spike of 65 women who are undergoing training as a joint initiative of the District Administration of Bellary and Yadgir District Administration is also following the same lines where the training will commence soon.
The entire training is focused on rural women who are unemployed and lack skills to work in the healthcare industry. They learn the art of nursing aide and then are mandatorily trained in practical lessons at the district hospital after which they are certified and supported for job placements all around the country. So far in the previous setting about 35 women were trained and now in the next cohort about 100 women are undergoing training in Karnataka and in Assam free of cost. Kantar India Foundation has been an ally of CHD Group and have worked closely in the past on numerous developmental initiatives which have transformed the Indian healthcare landscape and benefitted over 65,000 people collectively.
