St Philomena College Celebrated National Voters’ Day with a Voters’ Day Pledge
Puttur January 25: St Philomena College Electoral Literacy Club in association with IQAC of the College organized National Voters’ Day with Voters’ Day Pledge Ceremony in the College Quadrangle. The programme was presided by Vice Principal Prof Ganesh Bhat and in his presidential address he said that,” Youth is the huge human resource of the country. Enforcing right to vote is the bounden duty of every individual citizen of the country. Therefore, youth should take part in voting by understanding the individual responsibility in building the Nation.”
Vice Principal Dr A P Radhakrishna spoke on the importance of the Day in his address to the students of the college. He said, “When one becomes a part of Election he or she will be a part of democracy. National Voters’ Day is celebrated to mark the Foundation Day of Election Commission of India and to create awareness among the youth of the Nation, this Day is being celebrated”. The coordinator of Electoral Literacy Club Dr Basthyam Pais administered Voters’ Day Pledge to the entire student body and the faculty of the College. Rev Fr Stany Pinto, Campus Director welcomed. Harshitha and team rendered prayer. Member of the Club Mrs Geetha Poornima compered the programme. Booth level polling officer of the College Mr Robert Monteiro proposed vote of thanks.
