St Aloysius holds French Fest – “Lumière 2024”

Mangaluru: The Department of French conducted the annual French fest celebration titled “Lumière 2024: French Flair, Carnival Air” on Wednesday, April 17th, 2024, at Mother Theresa Peace Park, St Aloysius (Deemed to be University).

The Vice Chancellor, Rev. Dr Praveen Martis SJ, in his presidential address, appreciated the efforts taken by the department to conduct such a unique fest. He shared his memorable experiences of his stay in France during his research studies in Europe and said that “France is a country of intellectuals and people with vibrant cultural heritage. They demonstrate a high level of respect and hospitality toward visitors. It would be a great opportunity to visit France as tourists or for higher education.”

The fest had a series of events, including Quiz competition, a fashion walk, and an open mic. It also had a variety of stalls that provided different things, including a delicious array of food, fun games, and homemade goodies.

Ms. Mariyam Ishmat, a student in the II year, compered the program. The student coordinator, Ms. Joanne Furtado, welcomed the gathering. Ms Erika Menezes, assistant student coordinator, proposed the vote of thanks. The informal program was compered by Ms Coral Jean Rego, a second-year student.

The program concluded with the distribution of prizes for the winners.
