Spandana Okkoota builds an eco-friendly garden seat

The Members of 226 Self-Help Groups of Spandana Okkoota Kumbla formed under the aegis of CODP ® Mangaluru built an Eco-friendly seat at Kumbla. 280 kg plastic waste was converted into eco bricks. It was stuffed in 2 ltr bottles.

The seat was inaugurated on 15.03.2020 by Rev. Fr Oswald Monteiro, Director of CODP. In his inaugural speech, he conveyed a significant message stating we must try to reduce the usage of single use plastics in our daily lives. However, available plastic trash which has no recycle value can be converted into eco bricks so that they are not littered, burned or dumped in our surroundings and thereby try to create a plastic free environment.

The staff of CODP viz, Ravikumar Crasta, Peter Dsouza, Asha K, Mamatha, Precilla, Jacintha and Savitha took the main initiative and inspired the members to build an eco-friendly bench.
