Seminar on Financial Literacy and use of digital tools held at Mount Carmel Central School
Mangaluru: A Seminar on “Financial Literacy and Use of Digital tools” was conducted on 23rd January 2023 at Mount Carmel Central School, Mangaluru organized by CBSE-COE in association with National Stock Exchange of India. The seminar was attended by staff of the school as well as teachers from the hub schools attached to Mount Carmel Central School.
The session began invoking of God’s blessings. The Principal Sr Melissa welcomed the gathering and introduced the keynote speaker Mrs. Oruganti Padmavathy from National Stock Exchange who briefed the educators assembled on Financial Literacy and Use of digital tools. She spoke on different schemes of savings and investments and their benefits. She emphasized and urged the educators to take small steps towards saving, specially the need to invest on retirement benefit funds. She also spoke about inflation and its pros and cons. She guided the educators on the risk involved and certain misconceptions about Investment in NIFTY. The session ended on a positive note, the awareness to save and invest.
Teacher Purnima compeered the programme, while teacher Bharathi proposed the vote of thanks. At the end, refreshments were served to all.
