Ninth day’s Novena at Our Lady of Health Minor Basilica, Harihara

Davanagere, Harihara, September 7, 2023: The Ninth Day’s Novena at Our Lady of Health, Minor Basilica, Harihara, Davanagere District, Diocese of Shimoga, began at 5:30 p.m. with a rosary, procession, and floral homages to Harihara Matha. Then the Basilica Rector & Parish Priest, Rev. Fr George K. A., led the Novena.

At 6:30 p.m., Most Rev. Dr Robert Miranda, Bishop of the Diocese of Gulbarga, celebrated the Holy Eucharist. He preached his homily on the theme: “Mother Mary is an inspiration for hospitality”.  

In his homily, he explained how the Blessed Virgin Mary became an inspiration for hospitality in her life. He said that her visit to Elizabeth and her quality of helping without complaining are really an inspiration for all of us.

The Most Rev. Dr Francis Serrao SJ, Bishop of the Diocese of Shimoga, concelebrated the Holy Eucharist. Rev. Fr Roman Pinto, Rev. Fr Venil D’Silva, Rev. Fr Richard SJ, Rev. Fr Franklin D’Souza, Rev. Fr Rayappa, Rev. Fr Ronald Furtado OCD, Fr Ronald D’Cunha, Rev. Fr Shanthraj SJ, Rev. Fr Prashanth OFM CAP, Rev. Fr William OFM CAP, Rev. Fr Alphonse Lobo, Rev. Fr Duming Dias, Rev. Fr Alvin Stanislaus and Rev. Fr George K. A concelebrated the Holy Eucharist. 

After the Mass, Rev. Fr. Franklin DSouza and Rev. Fr. Roman Pinto led the healing prayers and benediction, and priests prayed over the pilgrims.
