Mount Carmel Cubs and Bulbuls Observe World Thinking Day
Mangaluru: The Cubs and Bulbuls of Mount Carmel Central School, Mangaluru, observed World Thinking Day on February 22, 2024, in the school auditorium. The event served as a testament to the enduring legacy of Lord Baden Powell and Lady Baden Powell and the guiding principles of scouting.
The celebration commenced with the traditional Baden-Powell exercise, emphasizing the values of loyalty, courage, and service as advocated by the founder of the scouting movement. Following which, the Cubs and Bulbuls recited their respective promises, reaffirming their commitment to duty, service, and community. A solemn prayer song was sung, invoking blessings for unity, peace, and harmony among all present. Sachith Sequiera and Zac Rishi extended a warm welcome and introduced the chief guest, Tr Ilona Machado, who is also the ADC of the Mangalore North Scouts & Guides Association. The significance of World Thinking Day was well articulated. Cubs and Bulbuls from grades 1 to 4 captivated the audience with vibrant performances, including songs, dances, and a mime show, showcasing the diversity and talents within the scouting community.
The Chief Guest, Tr Ilona, commended the efforts of the Cubs and Bulbuls in putting up a meaningful programme. In her message, she highlighted the theme of the year, “Our world, Our Thriving Future” and urged the Cubs and Bulbuls to embrace the values of empathy, collaboration, and leadership in shaping a better society.
