Mount Carmel Central School pays fitting tribute to Dr B. R. Ambedkar

Mount Carmel Central School, Mangaluru paid a fitting tribute to the eminent personality of Dr B R Ambedkar on April 13th on the occasion his 133rd birth anniversary.

The programme commenced with a prayer followed by the significance of the day in which the students articulated the qualities of Dr B R Ambedkar, a multifaceted Indian Nationalist, the chief architect of Indian Constitution, a political leader, a polyglot, an orator, a scholar specially a well-known statesman, who fought for the rights of the dalits. The song hailing the contribution of this eminent personality intensified the celebration. The chief guest Tr Purnima along with vice principal Sr Teena AC and Sr Meena Fernandes AC and two students paid a floral tribute to this great man.

Tr Purnima in her message lauded the work of this great man. She also mentioned his struggle of being a dalit which did not deter him, but raised him to fight for the rights of the dalits and other backward classes using the tools of education and compassion. The meaningful celebration of Ambedkar  Jayanthi enlightened the staff and students to respect and treat everyone with dignity unmindful of caste, creed, religion, language and to abide by and promote the Indian Constitution.
