Mount Carmel Central School celebrates the 151st Establishment Day of the Apostolic Carmel Congregation
Mangaluru: The Establishment Day of the Apostolic Carmel in India, which is the school management, was celebrated at Mount Carmel Central School, Mangaluru on November 19th with a solemn Eucharist. The Thanksgiving Mass commenced with a high-spirited hymn led by the Carmel Blossoms.
The Celebrant Fr Michael OCD although a senior priest was able to grab the attention of the students. His interaction with the students especially the little ones made it known to us that his love for children knew no bounds.
Fr Michael, fondly known as Mickey Mouse ( as mentioned by him ) had an interactive session during the Homily with the students. His advice was that when we come across crossroads during our everyday life and when we have a choice to make, anything is possible with faith and prayer. This he referred to the youth of Class X and XII, when they feel they are called for a special service for the Lord, for the consecrated life. He gifted a memento to the students of Class XII and a sticker for the students of Class X to remember that they are called by Jesus, to serve the people of God.
After the Mass, a short ceremony was held to honour our foundress Venerable Mother Veronica. A portrait of our Foundress was adorned with a garland by the celebrant Fr. Michael OCD and Principal Sr Melissa. The Sisters, Teacher representatives, the president and vice president of Carmel Blossoms, and the student representatives offered flowers to Venerable Mother Veronica with much devotion and reverence.
An informative presentation on the life our Foundress Venerable Mother Veronica was viewed by all the students and the teachers. The Principal asked the students to continue to pray to Mother Veronica for the favours to be granted as the cause of her beatification is taken up by the church. We pray that Mother Veronica may be raised to the honours of sainthood soon.
