Monti Fest celebrated with fervour in Mangaluru and Udupi

Mangaluru/Udupi, September 8: Catholics across the coastal districts celebrated the feast of Our Lady of Nativity, also known as Monthi Fest, with fervour on Friday, September 8.

Father Muller Homeopathic Medical College Hospital, Deralakatte, Mangaluru

The Nativity of Blessed Mother Mary was celebrated at Father Muller Homeopathic Medical College Hospital. Fr Ashwin Crasta was the main celebrant. Fr Roshan crasta and Fr Nilesh Crasta concelebrated the solemn Eucharist. Students and faithful participated in the festivities.

Monthi Fest celebration at Alangar

Moodbidri: Parish priest Fr Walter D’Souza blessed new paddy corns. After the procession, a solemn mass was celebrated. Fr Arun Lobo, director of the Counseling Center, Mangalore Diocese was the main celebrant. He preached a beautiful sermon on the evils that threaten our families. During Mass Biblothon, the Bible Marathon was launched as per the direction of the Bible Commission.

Donors were honoured with a candle. Gurkars distributed blessed corn to the heads of the family. As a family, the parish consumed payasam mixed with Novem. Payasam, cake, and sugarcane were distributed to all who gathered.
