Mangaluru: Milagres College organizes Annual Sports Day
Mangaluru: Milagres College organized Annual Sports Day at Mangala Stadium, Ladyhill, Mangaluru On January 7.
Mr Joseph G Gonsalves was the Chief Guest, Mr Nigel Pereira, Vice President, Milagres Parish Pastoral Parishad was the Guest of Honor, President for the event was Rev Fr Joseph Lobo, Correspondent, Milagres Educational Institutions, Rev Fr Michael L Santhumayor, Principal, Milagres College, Mr Ravi Walke, Physical Director were present for the inaugural program.

Rev Fr Michael L Santhumayor welcomed the gathering. Speaking on the occasion Chief Guest emphasized on the five S’s of sports: Stamina, Speed, Strength, Skill, and Spirit and said the greatest of these is Spirit. He also motivated students to actively take part in all the events.
Presiding over the program Rev Fr Joseph Lobo said sports helps in fostering team spirit, cooperation and leadership skills. It also instills a spirit of discipline and dedication which are the core values of a student. Various Track and field events such as Relay, Running, Long Jump, Shot put, Discus, Tug of War for staff and students were organized. Students of I B Sc. HS, I B Com ‘A’ and I B Sc. FND won prizes for their outstanding March past.
The Valedictory ceremony was held in the afternoon. Mrs Hilda Rodrigues, Secretary, Milagres Parish Pastoral Parishad was the Chief guest for the program. She appreciated all the participants and congratulated the winners.
Ms Eva Manorama compered the program. Ms Princita and Mr Ravi Walke proposed vote of thanks.
