Mangalore: St Aloysius B. Ed College observes world environment day.
Mangalore: St Aloysius B. Ed College, a leading institute of teacher education, observed the World Environment Day here to raise global awareness to take positive environmental actions to protect nature and the planet earth. The theme of the celebration was ‘ONLY ONE EARTH; CLEANER, GREENER.’
Mr Jeeth Milan Roche, Activist-National Environment Care Foundation (NCEF) was the Chief Guest. Addressing the audience, the chief guest said, “Human life can be happy if he links his life with nature. Man has broken the relationship with the nature by constant exploitation of earth. As human beings, we have to play a very important role in the well-being of every life possible on this earth. It is man’s duty to preserve and keep everything in check. It is easy to advocate for a greener environment and conservation of nature, but difficult to love the nature unconditionally.” The chief guest asked the audience, has the environment day celebration increased green cover on earth or reduced pollution, carbon print, water and soil pollution or improved human health? Man has destroyed sixty percent of forest. Man can do nothing to save the environment. The various developmental activities and use and throw cluture deplete the quality of nature every day. The best contribution man can do to save earth is to love the nature-he added.
Guests of honour, Tunnel man Mr Amai Mahalinga Naik, Padmashree Awardee and Senior Environmentalist Mr Krishnappa P Mangaluru were felicitated during the occasion.
