Lourdes Central School holds Annual Sports Finale for pre-KG to class V.

October 14, 2023

Mangaluru: It was a bright day, and the sun shone brightly as the pupils took part in the Kindergarten and Primary Section Annual Sports Day on October 12, 2023, on the school grounds.

The students were all prepped up for an energetic event, the Sports Week Finale for the KG and Primary Sections.

It was a delight to have the parents in attendance to support the budding athletes.

Sports day started with a heartwarming prayer song followed by an invigorating mass drill presentation by class 4 and 5 students, who were wearing white and silver bandanas, representing the purity of heart and mind the children possess, and acclaiming that “our Alma Mater is twenty-five years old, celebrating silver jubilee”. The students of classes 1, 2, 3 and the little angels of kindergarten and nursery danced in tune to the rhythm of the music, exhibiting harmony and unison in their movement and spirit.

The president of the event, Rev. Dr. J. B Saldanha, Manager, Lourdes Central School, was filled with awe at the team spirit and sportive behavior of the students. He also narrated a real-life incident of the specially abled students who participated in the race and helped each other reach their goal.

The chief guest of the day, Ms Chhaya Chaturvedi, delivered a befitting speech that made the spectators rush to her to answer a few mind-boggling questions on fitness and a healthy body.

Fr. Robert Dsouza, Principal Lourdes Central School, Vice Principals Ms. Belita Mascarenhas and Ms. Anita Thomas, and PTEC members Ms. Anita Cutinha and Ms. Nishitha Fernandes were all elated to distribute prizes to the sports winners of the kindergarten and Primary Section.

The sports conveners, Ms. Thriveni and Ms. Anita Pinto, along with the school band, were at their best, and the staff of LCS, along with the emcees for the day, Pranamya, Pritika, Maven, and Eesah, were on their toes to make this finale an astounding success. PE instructor and convener, Ms. Anita Pinto, delivered the vote of thanks. The sports week finale concluded with the school anthem.
