Lourdes Central School celebrates Ambedkar Jayanti 2023–2024
Mangaluru: April 14th is observed as the birthday of Dr. B. R. Ambedkar all over the country.
Lourdes Central School celebrated the 134th Ambedkar Jayanthi with great enthusiasm during the school assembly on April 13, 2024.
The programme started with a universal prayer and intention. A floral tribute was offered by the principal, Rev. Fr Robert Dsouza, and vice principals, Ms. Belita Mascarenhas and Anitha Thomas, symbolically as a mark of respect to Dr. B. R. Ambedkar, who worked to uplift the marginalized and for social justice.
Pranav Singh of class X enlightened everyone with the significance of the day, where he highlighted that Dr. Ambedkar strived hard to help the people uphold the values of liberty and equality for all.
The principal, while addressing the students, quoted Dr. Ambedkar’s words, “The duty must be performed; let the efforts be successful or not.”.
“Education is the right weapon to cut social slavery, and it is education that will enlighten the downtrodden masses to come up and gain social status, economic betterment, and political freedom.” It was a clear message to all of us to grasp every opportunity to educate ourselves and to do our duty diligently.
Finally, the program concluded with the school anthem after taking the pledge. Nikhet Shet of class X compered the program.
