Lourdes Central School celebrated 75th Republic Day with great éclat

Mangaluru: On the auspicious morning of January 26, 2024, Lourdes Central School celebrated 75th Republic Day in the school premises with great éclat. The programme commenced at 8 a.m., creating a prayerful atmosphere with a hymn and intentions.

The dignitaries on the dias were Rev. Father Principal, Robert Dsouza, the Chief Guest, Mr Ashok Pinto, the Vice President of the Bejai Parish Pastoral Parishad, Rev. Father Arul, Vice Principals, Mrs Belita Mascarenhas and Mrs Anita Thomas. A genial welcome was given by Amil Barboza. The chief guest of the day escorted by the deputy sports minister, Shubhan Das along with the dignitaries  hoisted  the national flag with great pride and honour. The significance of the day was highlighted by Mithra of Class 9 upholding the values and responsibilities of the citizens. A melodious medley of patriotic songs was presented by Class 8 students.

Rev. Father Principal, Robert Dsouza, addressed the gathering, reflecting on unity in diversity and duties as citizens of this great country. He advised the students to be committed, positive and dedicated leaders of our nation. He also stated to work towards a more inclusive and equitable society, where the principles of our constitution are not just words on paper but a reality that lives by every day. Father Principal also appreciated their presence in large numbers. The program was concluded by Erina Mariam of class 6 and compered by Premal Dsouza of class 7. The programme was organised by Ms Shamitha Machado.
