Hail the male! Unique Men’s Day celebrations held at Bondel Church

Mangaluru: The ICYM Bondel Unit organised an International Men’s Day at St. Lawrence Church Bondel on November 19, 2023. The celebration began with a Thanksgiving Mass at 7 a.m. Rev. Fr. Andrew Leo D’Souza, parish priest, was the main celebrant. Rev. Fr. Valerian Mendonca SJ. and Fr. Theodore Rosario Pinto concelebrated the mass.

After the mass short felicitation programme was conducted by ICYM members, eight men from different fields from Bondel parish were felicitated with a shawl, flowers, and memento.

1. Mr Prakash C. N. Pinto: honour for the service rendered in society
2. Mr Valerian D’Silva-Honour for the service rendered to the Christian community
3. Mr Lawrence Robert D’Silva – Honour for the service rendered in the field of Agriculture
4. Dr. Suraj Francis Noronha: Honour for Achievement in the Field of Education
5. Alrick Livian D’Silva: Honour for the service rendered in the youth movement
6. Mr. Wilfred Alvares: Honour for the service rendered as a leader
7. Fr. Theodore Rosario Pinto-Honour for Exemplary Life as a Religious
8. Lt. Col. Grecian Sequiera: honour for the service rendered in the field of defence.

Miss Caroline Pinto, Miss Melinda D’Souza, Miss Minal Monteiro, and Miss Primal Sequiera introduced the men who had been felicitated.

Rev. Fr. Andrew Leo D’Souza addressed the gathering, acknowledging the commitment of dedicated men and their selfless service in different fields.

Rev Fr Andrew Leo D’Souza, Rev Fr Peter Gonsalves, Director of the ICYM Bondel Unit, Rev Fr Lancy D’Souza, Asst Parish Priest, and Rev Fr Valerian Mendonca SJ, Animator Zeena Cornelio, were present in the programme.

The programme concluded with a Thanksgiving hymn.
