Five Day Workshop on Communicative English for the Teachers of Primary Schools organized at SPC Puttur

Puttur,24 April: The Catholic Board of Education ,Mangalore organized a Five Day Workshop on Communicative English for the Teachers of Primary Schools which come under the care of The Catholic Board of Education ,Mangalore. The inaugural ceremony was conducted in the PG Seminar Hall of St Philomena College Puttur, having Very Rev.Fr Antony Michael Sherra ,Secretary ,CBE, Mangalore, as President. The workshop was inaugurated by Very Rev. Fr Lawrence Mascarenhas, Correspondent of the College. Rev. Dr Antony Prakash Monteiro, Principal of the College participated as Guest of Honor.
Post lighting the lamp ceremony, inaugurator, Very Rev .Fr Lawrence Mascarenhas said in his inaugural address,”The fundamental requirement to excel in any profession, perennial learning process is a must and minimum requirement.As primary school teachers’ role is highly significant in a child’s education,teachers are required to update themselves with the art of communication so as to impart knowledge fruitfully with ease. The teachers with effective communicative skills can have a powerful hold over their classrooms.”
Rev. Dr Antony Prakash Monteiro, Guest of Honor, said, “Learning is an unending process. A teacher who explores new knowledge horizons only can teach effectively. If one masters over language and communication, he or she can have fun in the profession of teaching.”
Rev.Fr Antony Michael Sherra, who presided over the inaugural ceremony elaborated on the conception of the thought to conduct a course of the kind by explaining why a teacher should always be updated with knowledge and communicative skills. He gave a call to the teachers to make the best use of their precious time in the Course period.
Rev.Fr Stany Pinto,Campus Director and Asst Professor in English was present on the dais.
Nagaprasad and team renderd prayer. Bharathi S Rai, HoD English, made introductory remarks and welcomed. Noveline D’Souza, Asst Professor, Dept of English proposed vote of thanks. Geetha Poornima, Asst Professor Department of Computer Science compered the programme. The said workshop consists of 100 beneficiaries. Rev.
