Empowering Students for the Future: Honeywell and ICT Academy Sponsor the Project for Youth Empowerment
Puttur, 21 August: In a remarkable initiative aimed at harnessing the potential of the upcoming generation, Honeywell has partnered with ICT Academy to introduce the ‘Student Empowerment Program’ set to embark on August 22, 2023, at St Philomena College, Puttur. This project is all about equipping the prefinal year youth and women students with the skills necessary to thrive in the modern world.
As the fourth industrial revolution takes hold, incorporating advanced technologies becomes paramount for both the public sector and private enterprises worldwide. However, for students, the lack of affordability, access, and available infrastructure poses a significant challenge. Honeywell, in collaboration with the ICT Academy, has taken up this challenge by establishing 32 Centers of Excellence for Women’s Empowerment and 31 Centers of Excellence for Youth Empowerment.
The core focus of these centers is to train 6,500 higher education students in cutting-edge technologies such as Cloud Computing, Big Data, Robotic Process Automation (RPA), Artificial Intelligence, and Machine Learning. These technologies are the bedrock of the evolving job landscape, and by imparting proficiency in these areas, the program aims to create a pool of industry-ready individuals.
Key features of the program include the establishment of Centers of Excellence that are dedicated to empowering both women and youth. To ensure effective mentorship, each institution will have four female faculty mentors. An exciting highlight is the Digital Youth Empowerment Summit, a platform that will bring together all enrolled students to explore, learn, and connect.
Moreover, the students will have the invaluable opportunity to be guided by industry experts, receiving insights that extend beyond textbooks. Following rigorous assessment, successful participants will receive joint certification from Honeywell and the ICT Academy, enhancing their credibility in the job market. The project also extends its commitment to the future of the students by facilitating placement opportunities for those who obtain certification. The project aims to benefit the students of higher education institutions in Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Delhi NCR, Punjab, Haryana, Uttarakhand, Telangana, Rajasthan, and Andhra Pradesh.
Through this program, Honeywell and ICT Academy are working together to shape a brighter tomorrow by empowering today’s students with the tools they need to excel in the ever-evolving world of technology.
