Celebration of the 75th Republic Day at St Philomena College

Puttur 26 January: St Philomena College celebrated the 75th Republic Day with earnestness and joy. The celebration at the College truly echoed the spirit of patriotism and unity among the students, reinforcing the commitment towards the progress and development of the nation.

The National Flag was hoisted by the principal of the college, Rev. Dr Antony Prakash Monteiro, who also delivered a meaningful Republic Day message. He emphasized the significance of Republic Day and encouraged students to actively contribute towards making India a developed nation. He also wished that the spirit of patriotism among the students would guide their endeavours and lead India to greater heights.

The principal of St Philomena PU College, Rev. Fr Ashok Rayan Crasta, was the chief guest for the event and said,” As we celebrate the 75th Republic Day, let us reflect on the values that define our nation: unity, diversity, and progress. The young are the architects of a future India. Therefore, strive for excellence, embrace knowledge, and contribute to our great nation.” The celebration witnessed the active participation of NCC cadets from the Army and Naval Wings, along with students and faculty members. The Performing Arts unit added grace to the celebration by performing patriotic songs.

Mr Prashanth Rai, Assistant Professor in the Department of Business Administration, compered the program. Capt. Johnson D. Sequeira, ANO of the NCC Army Wing, and Mr Thejaswi Bhat K., CTO of the NCC Navy Wing, organized the program.
