Young Manglorean author Reshel Bretny Fernandes honoured with the International Kalam Award

Mangaluru: Ms. Reshel Bretny Fernandes, born on October 30, 2002, at Surathkal, Mangaluru, daughter of Mr. Ronald and Mrs. Nancy (teachers), is a young author, writer, thinker, researcher, and orator who has accomplishments at international, national, state, and other levels in literary activities. She has completed schooling from DPS MRPL Mangaluru, P.U. from Ladyhill Victoria PU College with State 7th Rank and District First Rank in the Arts stream and B.A. in Hindi from Dakshin Bharat Hindi Prachar Sabha and also B.A. general (History, Economics, Political Science) from Sri Mahaveera College, Moodbidri. She is presently pursuing an LL.B. at S.D.M. Law College, Mangaluru. 

TAOI AUTHORS OF INDIA New Delhi recognised Ms. Fernandes with the Author of New Era Award for the outstanding achievement of writing the book Bharat at 2047: Role of Youth, which is on the magnificent topic of being the first young author to write on this topic in this 21st century. Her efforts were recognised igniting new ideas in the younger generation and sparking development at such a young age, which is exemplary for the upcoming generation.

Also having pursued certificate courses in disaster management, human resource management, and public health management. Also having an interest in studying public administration. She has presented 10 articles in international and national journals. Also is an active volunteer in two organizations Disha Bharat and Samartha Bharata. Also attended national-level webinars relating to various topics. She has been an active participant in the youth parliaments taken at different levels.

She has been awarded the Rabindranath Tagore Literature Awards and the Bharatiya Sahitya Sanman, the Rabindranath Tagore Book Award, by DRDC GLOBAL for literary excellence and other national honors. She has more than 150 achievements in the literary field. She has won essays on topics like Bharat in Amritkaal, the role of youth, Bharat and the freedom movement, and Swaraj @75 India since Independence and essays on Swami Vivekananda. She has published 2 books, ESSAYS ON COLLECTIVE TOPICS, by Taneesha Publications, which has been successful at the age of 21. She has been featured in the magazine of authors of India and Empowered Pen, considering it to be the first young author to write on such a magnificent topic. 

Kalam Edu Versity, an international-based organisation has presented her with the prestigious International Kalam Award 2025 for remarkable achievements in the same and appreciated her efforts.

She is a student of SDM Law College, Mangalore.
