Webinar on “Career Development In Analytic Domain” organized at St Agnes College
Mangaluru: The department of MSc Big Data Analytics, St Agnes centre for Postgraduate Studies and Research, Mangaluru organized a webinar on career development in analytic field and how to develop essential skills to acquire a position in analytics field?
Ms. Roselita, student vice president of MSc Big Data Analytics led the gathering into prayer through a prayer song. Sr. Dr M Vinora A.C., PG Coordinator welcomed the gathering and introduced the Keynote Speaker of the day, Ms. Chandini Alva, Assistant Manager in the Analytics and Decision Science team at HSBC Bank, Bengaluru. Sr. Dr. Venissa AC, Principal of St. Agnes College, Mangaluru then delivered her presidential address through which she encouraged the students to invest in themselves and always keep on up-skilling themselves to be competent in the present corporate world scenario. The session was then handed over to the keynote speaker Ms. Chandini Alva. She is an alumnus of St. Agnes College.
Ms. Chandini Alva began her session by sharing her experiences and life journey in the field of analytics. She then specified the different fields in which data science is used. She covered concepts like upgrading one’s skills, focusing on our goals. She then spoke about how projects help a student get a better job in the analytics. Ms. Chandini also spoke about the different job roles in data analytics field. She also mentioned about platforms to enhance analytical knowledge.
Some of the other topics covered by the keynote speaker included the companies that use analytics for their decision making, how to attend interviews, different platforms on which one can apply for jobs. She also said that while attending an interview, the candidate should know about the company and its working. She inspired and motivated the audience by her real life experiences. The session came to an end with a question and answer session in which all the doubts of the students were cleared. After the insightful session, Ms. Juwairiyah proposed the vote of thanks.
