Mangaluru: The Perpetual Profession of Sister Mary Joan of Jesus was held at Adoration Monastery, Poor Clares in Milagres on 9th September 2024.
The solemn Eucharistic celebration was held at 11 a.m., presided over by very Rev. Fr Maxim Noronha, Vicar General of Mangalore Diocese. The Eucharist was concelebrated by many capuchin fathers, including the Director of Father Muller Charitable Institutions.
Rev. Fr. Rocky Dcunha, Superior of St. Anne’s Friary, welcomed the gathering and read out the papal blessing imparted by his Holiness Pope Francis. Rev. Fr. Jude Thaddeus, the Religious Assistant for the Poor Clares in India and Bangladesh, was present.
The programme was attended by the relatives of sister Mary Joan and a few religious sisters. The celebrant stressed the importance of a special religious occasion to spend 24 hours before the blessed sacrament and thanked the sisters of the Adoration Monestry for their prayerful support in the diocese of Mangalore.
