St Philomena College Organises Free Health and Dental Checkup Camp at Papemajalu

Ariadka, 16 June 2024: The Post Graduate Department of Social Work, Post Graduate Study and Research Centre, St Philomena College, Puttur, in collaboration with Gram Panchayat Ariadka and A.J. Shetty Medical College and Hospital, Mangalore, organized a free Health and Dental Checkup Camp at D.K.Z.H.P. School, Papemajalu, which also marked the conclusion of a six-day rural education camp.

The camp was inaugurated by Mr Ashwin L. Shetty, Administrator of Vidya Rashmi Vidyalaya, Savanoor. Dr. Sathyapriya, MDS faculty at A.J. Shetty Medical College and Hospital, Mangalore, served as a resource person and provided valuable insights into the importance of maintaining good health.

Vice Principal of St Philomena College, Dr Vijaya Kumar Moleyar, Vice Principal of St Philomena College, Santhosh Maniyani Kutyadi, President of Gram Panchayat Pape Majalu, Jagadish B, President of Koti Chennai Youth Club, Sachin Papemajalu, Akshay Rajput, Ammanna Rai D, Gram Panchayat member, and Jayalatha, Headmistress of the school, graced the occasion with their presence. The event was presided over by Dinesh Kumar, President of the SDMC school.

Srimani, Prathibha, Sheethal Kumar, Assistant Professors in the PG Department of Social Work, first- and second-year students of the Social Work Department, Asha workers, Health Officer Ms Chetana, and members of the Ariadka community participated in the programme.

The camp featured a comprehensive range of health services, including dental check-ups, general medicine consultations, throat, ear, and nose (ENT) check-ups, ECG tests, diabetic screenings, gynecological examinations, eye check-ups, dermatology consultations, and pediatric check-ups. The camp witnessed a large turnout, with hundreds of people availing of the services offered.
