St Aloysius College (Autonomous) Secures 58th Rank among Colleges in India Under NIRF 2024
Mangaluru: The prestigious St Aloysius College (Autonomous) Mangaluru, which was recently elevated to the status of a Deemed to be University by the UGC and the Ministry of Education, Government of India, has once again proved that it is one of the best higher education institutions in the state and the country by securing the 58th rank among colleges in India in the National Institutional Ranking Framework, NIRF survey conducted by the Ministry of Education, Government of India for the year 2024. This survey is conducted by the Government of India to make a comprehensive and critical assessment of the quality of education imparted by the higher education institutions in India by verifying the data related to:
- Teaching, Learning & Resources
- Research and Professional Practice
- Graduation Outcomes
- Perception
- Outreach & Inclusivity
Addressing the media persons, Dr Praveen Martis, SJ, Vice Chancello, said, ” St Aloysius has been performing incredibly well in all parameters of the NIRF survey in the past few years. The institution did commendably well in NIRF-2023 in all the criteria and was ranked at 80. It is a matter of great pride that the institution, which is a deemed to be a university today, has jumped the NIRF ranking, raised its standards and quality by a whopping 22 places, and is awarded the 58th position among all higher education institutions in the entire country.”.
This is a momentous moment and an unprecedented milestone in the history of a legendary institution with a potent heritage of 145 years of eventfully credible and consistent performance.
The rewarding accomplishments of being recognized as a deemed to be university by the UGC and Government of India and securing the distinction in excellence of being ranked at 58 among higher education institutions in the country are a testimony to the superior levels of attainment of national and international benchmarks. The credibility of the University has seen an unprecedented growth trajectory and is known among some of the top higher education institutions in the Country and around the globe. The university is setting similar benchmarks at the international level by launching student and faculty exchange programmes, twinning programmes, summer research programmes and internship programmes at various world-renowned colleges and universities.
The university has already launched many new and trending undergraduate, postgraduate, and research programmes in the current academic year. The university plans to start a School of Education, a School of Legal Studies and select Professional programmes in Engineering in the upcoming academic years.
It is also heartening to observe that the diversity of students has been growing exponentially in the last few years. St Aloysius (Deemed to be University) envisages enhancing the enrolment ratio by a substantial number so that it continues and builds on its mission of providing access to higher education, attracting a large majority of regional, state, national, and international students.
