St Agnes CBSE School Mangaluru Celebrates Establishment Day

“Make yourselves small and remain very small for there is always place for the little ones”

Mangaluru: November 19th marks an important day to the Apostolic Carmel Congregation. It was founded by venerable Mother Veronica at Bayonne in 1868. It is on this auspicious day it was established in Mangalore, India in the year 1870.

St Agnes school recognised this important day in a unique way. The sisters of the institution along with Carmel Blossoms, students and teachers commemorated this day. In preparation to this day as the Congregation celebrates the 151th anniversary, nine days videos were shared depicting the life and virtues of Mother Veronica which were prepared by various schools of the congregation. The school played melodies hymns during the morning prayer. Precious gems of Mother Veronica were recited by the students.

A number of events were planned for this big day. It started with Calligraphy writing on Mother Veronica and the Gems and Acoustic Blend for the students. Quiz on Mother Veronica, Essay writing on the topic ‘Education is incomplete without the formation of character’ and Group singing competition on song of Mother Veronica and cooking without fire was organised for the teachers. The teachers and students enthusiastically participated in this event. The teachers were divided into teams of Rose, Marigold, Lilly and Tulip. A short prize distribution ceremony was arranged to mark the closure of this big day. The winners from various events were awarded.

Sr Dr Lydia Fernandes AC the Joint Secretary of the Institution gave an important message on this occasion to follow the virtues of Mother Veronica and to be humble and gentle in every way. Her sacrifice is the fruit of this important congregation. The Principal Sr Maria Gracilda AC shared her thoughts on Mother Veronica. Sr. Edna Furtado AC the Administrator was also part of the celebration. The success of the events organised is the hard work and joint efforts of Sr Marina D’Cunha AC the Vice Principal and Sr Sweedal Fernandes AC the Academic Coordinator.

The Management is proud of its existence and thank everyone for all the services rendered to this Congregation.
