St Agnes CBSE School Bendur conducts session on‘My Voice, Our Equal Future’
On the occasion of International Day of the Girl Child
Smiling face of each and every young girl is the mark of God’s quality.
Mangaluru: On December 19, 2011, United Nations General Assembly adopted Resolution 66/170 to declare October 11 as the International Day of the Girl Child, to recognize girls’ rights and the unique challenges girls face around the world.
The International Day of the Girl Child focuses attention on the need to address the challenges girls face and to promote girls’ empowerment and the fulfilment of their human rights.
Girls are breaking boundaries and barriers posed by stereotypes and exclusion, including those directed at children with disabilities and those living in marginalized communities. As entrepreneurs, innovators and initiators of global movements, girls are creating a world that is relevant for them and future generations.
Preparing the students to face the world is the main aim of any educational institutions. ST Agnes school being a pioneer in education and specially having decades of experience in bringing out successful woman have always strived to give the best. Each year the focus on this aspect increases towards building a safer society in making them strong. Working hand in hand with educators and parents as well.
To mark the celebration of International Day of Girl child for the students of grade VI to X a session was organised on ‘My Voice, Our Equal Future’ by renowned Activist and Environmentalist Mrs. Vidya Dinkar. She completely capturing the young minds on their responsibilities to raise their voice to the injustice happening around she also highlighted that we live by Constitutional ideals and we need to uphold these ideals. We need to fight for our rights. Always live by the standard of the societal boundaries.
She was welcomed by Vice Principal Sr. Marina D’Cunha AC. This event was jointly coordinated by teachers Madhura and Savitha. The vote of thanks was proposed by students Dwithi and Janicia of Grade VII and IX.
