St Agnes CBSE School Bendur celebrates Human Rights Day
Mangaluru: “A right is not what someone gives you, it’s what no one can take from you.”
Human right is celebrated annually across the world on December 10th of each year. On this Day United Nations General Assembly adopted in 1948 the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. It provides a foundation for building a peaceful world. “All Human, All equal” is this year’s slogan for Human Rights Day.
To mark the importance of Human Rights Day St. Agnes CBSE School organised a series of activities to educate the students about Human Rights. The students began a day with the prayer service followed by the significance of the day.
Unless the people are aware about their human rights, we cannot protect their rights or seek redressal when it is violated. To spread this awareness the students displayed the placards on human rights.
Poster Making competition was conducted for the students of grade 7 and Essay writing competition for grade 8 through which they gained the knowledge about the rights.
Being open and understanding to those around you is key in becoming an activist for human rights. Keeping in this mind to uphold the essence of human rights the teachers displayed the thoughts and quotes on human rights in a creative way.
The theme highlighting equality this year the students depicted the rights through still performance to deliver the importance of human rights.
This event was coordinated by teachers Reena and Sushmita.
The Management, the Administrator, Principal congratulated the students for their creative performance.
