Snehalaya witnessed the joyful reunification of Mr Kenchenna from Chitra Durga, Karnataka
Brother Joseph Crasta, the founder of Snehalaya, rescued a person named Kenchenna. on January 19, 2023. He was found wandering on the streets of Uppala, Kasargod. He showed extremely violent behaviour and was admitted to the Snehalaya Psycho-Social Rehabilitation Centre. The psychiatric counsellors and medical team managed to give him the appropriate care and support.
In addition to the medication, he was urged to take part in various therapeutic activities and counselling sessions. Based on the information provided by him, social workers in Snehalaya were able to determine his native place. There were also phone-based family counselling sessions for Kenchenna and his family. So there, the psychiatric social workers arranged a reunion on June 18, 2023, at Snehalaya. The family members came to Snehalaya to receive Kenchenna. His wife and mother were in tears as they saw him alive and in good condition. Kenchanna was really delighted and happy to be back in his abode. It gives Snehalaya satisfaction and joy when it witnesses so many reunifications taking place at the centre.
